NORFOLK, Va. (March 5, 2013) — The Amerigroup Foundation donated $15,000 to St. Mary’s Home to sponsor publication of the Home’s annual report. The gift continues Amerigroup’s long tradition of supporting St. Mary’s, which cares for children and young adults with severe disabilities.
In 2011, Amerigroup donated $50,000 to help St. Mary’s build The Albero House, a wing for adults that is expected to open in 2013. Amerigroup also previously has supported St. Mary’s 5K race fundraiser, while Amerigroup employees have volunteered nearly 300 hours in the past two years to help St. Mary’s with various projects.
“We are pleased to continue to have the support of Amerigroup,’’ said William C. Giermak, St. Mary’s CEO. “We appreciate Amerigroup’s generosity as well as their employees’ personal interest in St. Mary’s Home.”
The annual report sponsored by Amerigroup can be viewed at St. Mary’s website. Printed copies may be requested by calling (757) 622-2208 ext. 331. Two previous reports also sponsored by Amerigroup also are available on the website.
