Resource Guide

Families and guardians of children and young adults with disabilities can find can find themselves navigating a confusing maze of options to receive services or help.

At St. Mary’s Home, we understand just how complex the needs of children and young adults with disabilities can be. During our nearly 70 years of operation in Hampton Roads, we’ve accumulated a depth of knowledge regarding how to effectively care for people with disabilities.

We created “Comfort & Caring,” a resource guide, as a way for a range of professionals at St. Mary’s to share with families and guardians what they have learned by working at the Home.

We want to thank two organizations that have helped make this publication possible: Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc.®, which creates and supports programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children and is the leading sponsor of this guide, and Tidewater Officers’ Spouses’ Association, which is dedicated to providing morale, friendship and community service opportunities to the spouses of military officers in Hampton Roads.
