NORFOLK, Va. (Sept. 28, 2023) — St. Mary’s Home is pleased to announce Shannon Edsall as the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective October 1, 2023.

The Board of Directors of St. Mary’s Home initiated the CEO search earlier this year, following the retirement notice of current CEO, Wayne Jones.

In 2011, Shannon began her career with St. Mary’s Home as an administrative intern while in graduate school. Shannon says, “I remember coming to St. Mary’s Home hoping to gain a bit of experience and exposure to healthcare administration. In addition to finding those, I found a dedicated team of professionals that put the people we serve first and a passion to help provide a good life. I was inspired from the minute I walked through these doors.”

Board President, Randall Crutchfield, says “Shannon has more than 11 years of experience in working with individuals with disabilities. She has held key leadership positions at St. Mary’s, including most recently, Chief of Residential Services. The board is confident that Shannon is the right leader to guide St. Mary’s Home into the future. Her leadership will continue to support the Home in providing a good life for the staff and the individuals we serve.”

“Working alongside this incredible team has been such a privilege and an inspiration. The people we support, and their families are at the core of what we do at St. Mary’s Home,” said Edsall. “I am deeply honored to lead the St. Mary’s Home team to continue supporting individuals with different abilities. We have a long and rich history of providing exceptional care and I look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence and serving even more families.”

Please join us in welcoming Shannon into this new role.
