AUTHOR OF MEMOIR ABOUT RAISING A CHILD WITH DISABILITIES TO SIGN BOOKS AT DINNER FOR ST. MARY’S 65TH ANNIVERSARY

WHAT       Fern Kupfer, who advocates choices for people with disabilities, will be the keynote speaker at a special dinner to celebrate the 65th anniversary of St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children. She will share her own experience with her son and sign copies of her memoir, Before and After Zachariah. (Book signing organized by Prince Books.)

WHEN        March 24, 5:30 p.m. reception, 6:30 p.m. dinner, book signing to follow.

WHERE       Norfolk Waterside Marriott, 235 E. Main St.

COST       Dinner is $35 per person; $65 anniversary special when reserving for two; $350 for table of 10.

WHY       St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children has been caring for Virginia children for 65 years. Today, the private, nonprofit Home cares around-the-clock for as many as 92 children and young adults with severe disabilities. This event will be an opportunity for supporters and current and former staff and families to reunite and celebrate, as well as for members of the public to learn more about St. Mary’s Home, which has been providing an important community service since World War II.
