NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 14, 2020) — St. Mary’s Home launches international recognition program for extraordinary nurses.
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses (The DAISY Award) honors the super-human work nurses do for individuals and families every day. St. Mary’s Home is adopting the program to recognize the immense contributions nurses provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in caring for young people with disabilities.
Elizabeth McCuean, Chief of Nursing and Clinical Services, shared “The Daisy Award provides an opportunity for the individuals we support, their families and fellow professionals to recognize and thank a nurse that has positively impacted their lives. It is a platform that allows us to celebrate individual nursing achievement in both superior clinical care and nursing excellence in compassion and empathy. The Daisy Award gives us the ability to highlight the unique and amazing relationships that form the foundation of nursing at St. Mary’s Home.”
Nominations will be taken year-round. Submit a nomination online. You can also print and mail a DAISY Award Nomination Form.
Please say thank you by sharing your story of how a nurse made a difference you will never forget!
